The History Department was introduced in Silchar College in the year 1994. The Department started with few students initially. The faculties facilitate the students to comprehend historical processes that have shaped the Indian and world History. The dedicated faculty of History guide students sincerely in both academic and co-curricular activities. Apart from helping students with required study materials and notes; the faculties regularly organize quiz competitions, Talks, doubt clearance sessions for students. The Department has been successful in helping students to achieve better grades in their academic achievements.
